May there be you.. May there be me!

May there be you, may there be me To let there be she, he, they or us
Judge, define or know may not we By just our looks, our physicality, our mere faces

Although, don’t get me wrong, don’t mean to ignore beauty In any form, be it a child’s first smile, or of that one breath eventually after those several resuscitative measures

Or of the skin of the woman, which shows the presence of life, but why conceals she?For they’ve been labeled ugly, which reveal a bond don’t they, of a mother and child, for they’re not just stretch marks

Or of children’s innocent hearts, or the feeble voice yet wise words of the elderly Animals, plants, rain, snow, of sunshine, or of the moonlit starry night, every bit undoubtedly of what the nature owns

A nurse’s warm touch, a cop’s willingness to sacrifice his life for our safety A doctor’s compassion to feel the patient’s pain as if her own, or the lessons we learn from our teachers

Everywhere, in every form it is, nothing else, but beauty Deep within, defining who we are and what we do, I wish, that may our hearts be known to who we come across, not our looks

Let it be deep, so profound yet transparent, for the beholder to, by default, bypass the superficiality For beneath a frown, there could be still a warm soul and smiling faces could still be worn with broken hearts

May I be able to see the being in you, may there always be a person you see in me To appreciate beauty, the real inner one, in you and me, in each one of us
