Doctor… did he die??…

They’d been running together, working out to stay fit, to live healthy.. Just this past weekend, he’d turned happily 40..

3 little kids, a busy life, but they’d had it all so good so far.. She appeared to have a flat affect.. pale she looked, about what happened 2 days ago, in the car..

When they were driving back home, as part of their mundane routine, after a jog.. He suddenly held his chest and she just recalls the sirens, paramedics as he was staring away… in a fog..

He had an arrest.. he was resuscitated & brought back thankfully to life.. But he’s comatose & his exam is consistent with irreversible injury to his brain.. caught she was in a strife..

That he’s not parted ways with her..  but he isn’t with her anymore either..

Battling with herself, with us, with destiny, with the almighty she was… A war without weapons, no bloodshed.. there was no one though, the fight was with, yet no victory, just loss..

Her whole world shattered, her little children’s too.. 2 of whom yet weren’t even old enough to know, how bitter it was, even if true..

Pieces of papers were signed, which meant life support was to be withdrawn.. Oh.. not so peaceful at all seemed his last breath leaving his love, his blood & life.. but in an instant he was gone…

She’d to mourn and grieve in silence..  To keep her little ones not sense her, or rather their stress.. 

He lead a healthy lifestyle doctor, his parents are living & just fine..He never smoked a cigarette, then why… Never saw him angry, never complained or heard him whine…

I couldn’t answer.. hugged her hard and let her cry, for her untimely wound was deep enough to tear us all apart.. Our wounds would still heal soon, we may remember this tragedy just like so many others we see.. but perhaps even time as they say wouldn’t scar her broken soul & heart..
