That red lipstick, if you care, toss it
Youâd live long enough to not regret it
Masks and vaccinations in,
If you care enough for the rest of the world living
donât need your explanation,
about why hoaxâs this vaccination
Iâve dealt with deaths
Untimely, unfair, countless
Orphaned children,
Untimely many more deaths foreseen
Sigh⌠Thanks to misinformation
Conspiracy driven
Stands a divided nation
Lesson I hope will be learnt eventually
But itâll be too late, sadly..
By the time people will change their minds
Itâll be at a cost of thousands of lives..
You want freedom, your rights to decide whatâs best
Well guess what?!
Perhaps your decision when affects the vulnerable,
Itâs you then held responsible
Thereâs no agenda, but to survive,
A hope to eradicate this, to get out of this, alive
Like smallpox, polio, or plenty other viruses,
Used to be once
Devastating thousands
Until triumphed Science!
History they are
But learnt nothing we, now with facts at war?
Isnât experience others
That best teaches?
âPrevention is better than cureâ, the wise said
Protocols were followed, no questions asked
But now opposing it many
Oh just until counting breaths last grievously,
As one lifetime for you and me
Wonât be enough for either one to agree or disagree
Iâd argue ainât it common sense?
To block an airborne virus with necessary measures?
Thereâll be more and more mutations
But we canât hand our fate to fatigue and impatience
Canât afford to put our guard down
Consequence if negative, chance we may not have another one
You havenât lost a loved one yet to COVID,
Youâre the fortunate one, if you survived..
For you, I am truly happy
But youâre lucky only until the time you wouldnât be
For Iâm aware you donât mean to hurt anyone
Sadly though that doesnât come across as your intention
For not the virus or the vaccinationâs a conspiracy
But your disbelief in the pandemic.. What an irony!
Just as much as the virus is untreatable
Your ignorance about it is deplorable
Only because itâs worth a million lives..
Oh and many more in no time at this pace
How I wish we were together in this
One human race, against one illness
How I hope we spread this awareness..
Just a tad bit faster than this deadly virus
Why though in a common man
Common sense uncommon
I wonder an illness so fatal
Is an issue not as much medical, but political?
As a physician, itâs my duty
To protect us, our basic responsibility
For if God forbid my decision
Could be even remotely life threatening to someone
How am I even allowed to call that my right?
And to propagate such myths as just?
Seatbelts, red lights, law and order you donât question
But for a familyâs no more because of your carelessness, an option?
Today torn my heart is..
To pieces
To witness
These demises
That couldâve been,
That wouldâve been
Prevented..
These lives may have been saved..
I wish this was a nightmare
And now over..
If only you could see through my eyes
Itâs a pandemic, letâs save this world pleaseâŚ
Well, that red lipstick now, if you care, toss it
Youâd live long enough to not regret it
Masks and vaccinations in,
If you care enough for the rest of the world living
