The Death of a Doctor

The death of a doctor

If comes a day ever
God forbid, that a doctor,
stays anesthetized
Unaffected,
By the agony, and tribulation of a patient,
Unaltered by their helplessness and torment,
The person in him is no more
It’s the day of death of the doctor

Suffering, pain,
Affliction
Ought to be contagious
More than a disease infectious.
As not books, or knowledge alone,
But empathy, and compassion are what make a physician
As a healer, to feel someone’s pain
We first need to be human

If comes a day ever
God forbid, that a doctor,
stays anesthetized
Unaffected,
By the agony, and tribulation of a patient,
Unaltered by their helplessness and torment,
The person in him is no more
It’s the day of death of the doctor
