Born she was to parents brilliant
They said she’d be a gem too with those genes ardent
She was welcomed with love and warmth
For awaited with prayers for years was her birth
Beautiful she was as though celestial
A mother, a father.. a family was formed due to her presence integral!
They celebrated her every single moment thankfully
Knowing her worth, as she was to them a miracle baby
Gradually that she was turning older..
Challenging it was still tracking objects or make her smile.. even now that she was a toddler
Repetitive would be her odd hand movements, occasionally head banging
Worried were her parents, concerned about the behavior, self-mutilating..
Diagnosed she was with autism spectrum disorder
Her family was in denial as none in the family had ever had anything similar, besides her
They were devastated learning from specialists there was no cure for this condition
A link to vaccinations was never proven true in studies and that there wasn’t any specific known reason
as to why affected are a few children.. 1 in 59 as per epidemiology from CDC
Ranges from developmental disability.. be it speech impairment, or cerebral palsy
“Why oh why then my child, don’t get me wrong I don’t wish this even to an enemy”
The doctor responded, “Perhaps I can’t tell you the etiology or treatment if any,
But if you believe in that power supreme, the one above us all, the almighty,
He probably chose you as the most compassionate and caring of parents as your child’s to be
To bring her up with just as much love deserves any child normal
No doubt that with effort and hard work, your child would be a genius in her own way, exceptional”
A bitter truth they realized it was.. being parents to someone special
Forever a child who’d be, the sweetness of it they embraced, to begin their battle
As fighters they stepped out of the office..
To give her their all, their best, just as perennial the baby was, eternal was their promise!

For when we are the chosen one, we question why me?
Then when we need him, we question him where are you.
